I stumbled onto your blog from your guest post at the Positivity blog (http://www.positivityblog.com/index.php/2008/05/27/the-4-taoist-secrets-to-doing-less-and-getting-more-done/). After looking around a little bit I began to wonder why the title of the blog was "Between Us Girls". While it's true that many of your subjects may be more popular amongst women than with men, the categories of your posts don't really alienate men.
The only reason I bring it up is that I wonder if you might be alienating many potential readers / subscribers. How many men might see the title of the blog and think, "Oh well, nothing for me here. Next."?
Now it may be that you prefer this. Or it may be that since the topics you post on DO tend to be more popular with females that the number of readers who don't stop isn't nearly as significant as it might otherwise be. Maybe, as an experiment, you might start a parallel blog with a more neutral title and post the same articles to both.
Or maybe you can just decide that I don't know what I'm talking about, or you're perfectly happy with the way things are, or what have you. Either way. I just wanted to share the thought with you. Do with it what you will.

Matt,
Love your thoughtful remarks. I originally intended to create a site focusing on issues that women, particularly mid-life women, find interesting. Somewhere along the way I realized that my content was becoming more and more gender neutral. I, too, wonder if I'm alienating some readers with my title. I am toying with the idea of changing it...it just seems like such a hassle. I'll keep thinking about it.
Elizabeth,
Thanks, I'm glad you like it!

As the founder of MidLifeBloggers.com, I have the same issue re gender. I deliberately didn't stick the word 'woman' in the title or any tags, but I can't say that a lot of men have come to the site. I did publish one man--and am open to postings from others...but most of the men who have queried are wanting to give us advice!
